What does an employer do with undeliverable/returned employee W-2's?
An employer is required to keep and maintain an undeliverable W-2 for four years. The IRS requires an employer to make a reasonable effort to deliver Form W-2, which is achieved by sending Form W-2 to the employee's last known address.
